Pakistan's Relations with Afghanistan and Central Asia
On 11th September, 2026, Amb. (R) Mansoor Ahmad Khan delivered a lecture discussion on "Pakistan's Relations with Afghanistan and Central Asia" to the participants of 40th Senior Management Course at NIPA Lahore. The Guest Speaker, a former Ambassador to Afghanistan and presently Director, Beaconhouse National University Center for Policy. Research, highlighted the historical, security, economic and geopolitical dimensions of Pakistan's relations with Afghanistan and Central Asia. The speaker emphasized challenges including border management, cross-border militancy and the TTP, while underscoring the importance of sustained diplomatic engagement with Afghanistan. He also discussed opportunities with Central Asian states in trade, energy, transit and regional connectivity, particularly through Pakistan's ports and geographic location. During the interactive Q&A session, participants discussed security, economic cooperation and regional connectivity. The lecture concluded with a vote of thanks by the Sponsoring DS.
