On 30^th October 2023, Mr. Shahid Hamid, Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan, addressed on “Constitutional Framework Governing Pakistan”, to the participants of the 34^th SMC.

The learned guest speaker, in a concise presentation, highlighted the key features of the 1973 Constitution of Pakistan, focusing on federalism, democracy, and the impact of the 18^th and 19^th  amendments. He explained federal structure and discussed the need to streamline local governments. The guest speaker also touched on the judicial structure, suggesting reconciliatory models for improving access to justice. He explained the concept of government in a cabinet system and the Supreme Court’s power to interpret the Constitution, particularly through Suo Moto notices under Article 184.
