The Agenda 2030, commonly known as the Sustainable Development Goals, is an ambitious undertaking by humanity towards sustainable living. Pakistan’s commitment to the achievement of SDGs by 2030 requires mobilization of an unprecedented amount of resources. Side by side this demands a shift in institutional and individual mindsets that nurture collaboration, innovation, inclusivity and transformation.
The Workshop on Changing Mindsets in Public Institutions to Realize the 2030 Agenda in Pakistan’ was arranged for 34th Senior Management Course by NIM Lahore on November 29- 30, 2030 to facilitate this shift and to create the necessary synergies considered essential to fulfill these commitments. United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) and UN Resident Coordinator Office of (UNRCO) Pakistan collaborated with NIM to make this workshop a success. A number of experts from UNDESA like Ms Ana Cristina Thorlund and Mr. Keping Yao spoke on innovation and digital mindsets. A Case study of Indus Basin was presented by Mr. Shah Nasir Khan, the Head of Office, UNRCO. The 02- Days workshop included scores of activities that encouraged participants to revisit their existing perceptions about problems of public policy and consciously work on their mindsets to promote experimentation, digitalization and inclusivity for timely achievement of SDGs.
