On Thursday, 02^nd May, 2024, Mr. Waqar Naeem Qureshi, Director General, Information Technology Solutions, Punjab Information Technology Board, delivered a lecture to the participants of 40^th MCMC on “IT Governance Landscape”.

The honourable Guest Speaker explained that “IT Governance Landscape” is a strategic framework, for carrying out governance functions, augmented by IT Management. IT governance modernizes the governance techniques and ensures transparency along with efficiency of the system. The concepts were further enunciated at by describing IT Governance model in Singapore; which is currently following a “Smart Nation Initiative”. The local context, with special emphasis on Punjab, was discussed by the speaker. He elaborated the IT Governance challenges being faced by the Public Service Organizations in Punjab. He also briefed the participants on the relevant IT governance laws and key policies. The key challenges of IT Governance in Pakistan were also discussed.
