On Monday, May 20, 2024, Mr. Almas Hyder, Former President, Lahore Chamber of Commerce, delivered a talk to the participants of 35^th SMC on “Industrial Development in Pakistan”.

The speaker provided insights into the evolution of Pakistan’s industrial policy, analyzed the structure of its industry and its export potential, and highlighted challenges faced by both large-scale and SME sectors. Implementation strategy was also discussed for industrial growth amidst current policy environments. Speaker also discussed issues of industrial competitiveness, emphasized the significance of Special Economic Zones within the CPEC framework, and examined the impact of global trade dynamics on Pakistan’s industrial sector.
