On April 15, 2025, Dr. Fouzia Hadi Ali led a two-hour workshop on Data Analytics with SPSS for participants of 43^rd MCMC, with support from Sponsor DS Dr. Jawad Tariq Awan. The session provided participants with essential tools for harnessing data in policymaking and service delivery

Dr. Fouzia introduced data analytics as a means to derive actionable insights, outlining four core types: descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics. These frameworks, she noted, can significantly enhance governance by improving transparency, monitoring outcomes, and enabling smarter resource allocation

Through real-world examples—like predictive policing, vaccine distribution, and school dropout dashboards—the workshop illustrated the practical value of analytics in civil service Emphasis was also placed on ethical data use and the need to present complex findings in simplified, visual formats to support decision-makers.

Participants were introduced to key tools like Power BI and Excel for data visualization, as well as Big Data and Al concepts that further enrich analytics. The session also highlighted SPSS, a user-friendly statistical software widely used across sectors. Trainees learned how to input data, define variables, and perform essential functions such as descriptive statistics and cross-tabulations.

The session was a vital step toward cultivating a data-savvy public sector workforce. The session concluded with a standing ovation to the guest speaker by the participants and faculty.
