A Workshop on “Operations Management and Planning” was organized by the National Institute of Public Administration, Lahore, on Friday, 28^th November 2025. Mr. Sarmad Saeed talked about the Operations Process, Fundamentals of Operational Planning. Tools and Techniques for Effective Operational Planning. Performance Measurement and Improvement at operational level with hands on Group Exercise on Preparing Operational Plan.

The Guest Speaker elaborated on key elements such as strategic planning, process optimization, performance measurement, quality control, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and technological adaptation. He stressed the importance of communication, leadership, innovation, and regulatory compliance for operations managers. He illustrated these concepts with practical examples from public sector departments, emphasizing that effective operations management ensures smooth service delivery, resource optimization. and long-term sustainability.

The session concluded with a way forward outlining the need for strengthening supply chains, adopting digital transformation, ensuring ethical compliance, and promoting energy efficiency. The talk was followed by an interactive discussion in which participants shared challenges and solutions from their own operational contexts.
