A 5 hours comprehensive workshop on Pakistan’s Development Paradigm and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was conducted by UNDP Team at NIPA Lahore for participants of 45^th Mid-Career Management Course on December 19, 2025. The session was started by Ms. Amna Khalifa who examined the critical link between domestic resource mobilization, taxation, and sustainable development. She highlighted role of taxation in financing SDGs stressing that weak tax systems undermine progress across social, economic, and environmental goals.

Following this, Dr. M. Aman Ullah provided an overview of Pakistan’s SDG strategy, progress to date, key structural challenges, and pathways for integrating SDGs into public policy and planning through case-based approaches. The participants were also asked to design development projects and integrating SDGs in these projects. The participants presented their group work and received feedback from Dr. Aman Ullah.

The concluding session was delivered by Mr. Nadeem Khursheed who examined emerging urban challenges, governance gaps, and the role of financial and institutional mechanisms in strengthening climate resilience across Pakistan’s cities.

The session concluded with a standing ovation to the esteemed speaker by the faculty and participants.
