A workshop on “Effective Time Management Skills” was conducted on Friday, 17th April, 2026, at National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA), Lahore, with an aim to enlighten the participants of 46th MCMC. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Jawad Ahmad Dogar.

He elaborated two broad categories of the definition of time: the Newtonian definition, where time is measurable and part of the physical structure of the universe; and the Kantian definition, a philosophical category of time where time is part of the intellectual structure within which humans sequence the events of their lives. The speaker highlighted the basic attributes of time; that it is neutral, consumable, valuable, chronologically cumulative and not possible to save for the future.

The speaker emphasized that the characteristics of time stated above clearly indicate that time is a depleting resource which needs to be managed. He asserted that, we have to manage ourselves in order to manage time at personal, organizational and social levels. Personally, one will find time for leisure. Organizationally, time management can result in higher productivity and better service delivery. Socially, effective time management would result in developing better relationships. The guest speaker emphasized that time management helps us to prioritize our task so that we have enough time available to complete every project. The session was interactive and included several activities for the participants.
