A workshop on “Change Management” was conducted at National Institute of Public Administration, Lahore for the participants of 46th MCMC. The workshop was based on a Harvard Business School case study titled “Jonah Creighton” and focused on themes of Change Management, Organizational Culture, Leadership Approaches and Workplace Communication. The session aimed to develop participants’ understanding of organizational dynamics and challenges commonly faced in institutional and bureaucratic environments.
The Guest Speaker highlighted the importance of strategic planning, leadership commitment and professional communication in implementing organizational change. Through an interactive discussion, participants examined issues related to racial discrimination, organizational resistance, management styles and ethical dilemmas presented in the case study. The speaker emphasized that successful Change Management required coalition building, gradual implementation of reforms and sensitivity towards organizational power structures and workplace culture.
The participants actively contributed throughout the session by presenting their views, arguments and alternative perspectives regarding the conduct and motivations of the characters portrayed in the case study. The Guest Speaker encouraged participants to critically evaluate the narrative from multiple organizational viewpoints instead of relying upon a single perspective. The interactive nature of the workshop enabled participants to relate the lessons of Change Management with practical realities of public sector organizations and contemporary workplace settings.
