On Tuesday, 20^th January 2026, Mr. Naeem Aslam, a former Dean National Management College, Lahore, delivered a lecture on “Communication Skills” to participants of the 39^th Senior Management Course at the National Institute of Public Administration, Lahore.

Mr. Naeem Aslam broached the topic with the statement that communication is best learned through practice. Effective communication begins with analysing the message, choosing a clear channel, and knowing the audience. Trust and relationships are prerequisites for coordination and cooperation. Communication was defined as conveying information clearly to an individual or group so it is understood without ambiguity. Meaningful communication reinforces content through aligned verbal, non-verbal and visual cues to build credibility. The session highlighted listening, empathy, respect and trust as core assets. In groups, inclusive practice and regular feedback help overcome language, semantic and psychological barriers. The discussion also covered digital communication: email, messaging and video improve access but can weaken human connection unless empathy and clarity are made explicit.

The lecture then focused on presentation craft in professional settings. Strong presentations rest on preparation, clear structure and simple design. A compelling deck opens with a respectful introduction and purpose, frames background and issues, and ends with concise recommendations, de-briefing.
