A Lecture Discussion on “Human Resource Management in Public Sector” was held on Friday, 18^th April 2025 at National Institute of Public Administration, Lahore. Aim of the lecture was to make the participants of 43^rd MCMC realize the importance of HRM in public sector, discuss the requirements for recruiting, developing and maintaining professional workforce for effective service delivery and help them enhance their understanding of HR cycle and its challenges in public sector.

The respected guest speaker highlighted major features of Human Resource Management in Public Sector in Pakistan. He discussed multiple issues in HR Planning and Development and the consequences of these inadequacies. Furthermore, he critically examined Public Sector Governance and Performance Evaluation System. The speaker, then, compared the HR practices of public and private sectors. He concluded the lecture by highlighting some benefits and limitations of HRM in public sector.

The lecture was followed by an interactive Q&A session, offering participants an opportunity to engage with the guest speaker and seek clarity on various questions arising in their mind. Overall, the session was engaging, and participants were enthusiastic to ask questions and share their experiences.
