A workshop on “Leadership and Team Building” was conducted on 1st April, 2026 at National Institute of Public Administration, Lahore with an aim to train the participants of 46th MCMC in Team Building and Leadership Skills. The scope included Importance of working in Teams, Characteristics of Effective Teams, Effective Team Building Tools & Techniques, Leadership Traits Essential for Public Servants and relevant activities and exercises.

The workshop was conducted by Mr. Rafiq Jaffer, Director, Institute of Social Sciences. The guest speaker highlighted the importance of leadership traits and team building skills as the backbone of contemporary work life. The workshop started with a preliminary presentation on Experiential Learning Cycle, Leadership Traits and Team Building Techniques. Then the participants took part in two exercises: ‘Lost on the Moon’ and ‘Building Boats’. The purpose of the exercises was to make participants realize how essential it is to develop high-performance teams through team building techniques. Its aim was to bring out the best in a team to ensure self-development, positive communication, leadership skills and the ability to work closely together for problem solving. The guest speaker emphasized that efficient team building can translate into significant competitive advantage for any organization. Last part of the workshop was related to Team Roles Audit wherein individual roles of the participants were discussed and the guest speaker explained the pattern the group was demonstrating as a middle management level group. The interactive nature of the workshop along with interesting activities kept the session engaging and participants took part actively.
