On Friday, April 26, 2024, Mr. Abdul Ghaffar Khan, Former Director General, Ministry of Population welfare addressed the participants of 35^th SMC on “Population Dynamics of Pakistan”. The lecture discussion delved into Pakistan’s population dynamics, covering its size, structure, and distribution. It analyzed the reasons behind population growth and examined the impact of demographic changes, questioning whether it presents a dividend or a disaster, Internal migration was explored, including its causes, features, patterns, and implications, alongside the government’s response. Future policy options were discussed, considering the post-18th amendment scenario and lessons learned from other developing countries.
