On Tuesday, 25^th July 2023, Mr. Muhammad Abdullah Khan Sumbal, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Science and Technology, Islamabad addressed during a workshop on “Public Sector Project Management”, to the participants of the 33^rd SMC.

During his intellectual discourse, at first, he explained the basics of project and project management to the participants. He emphasized the very basic need of any project and urged the participants to identify why a project is required. In order to reach the answer, in his opinion, a bottom-up approach may help the practitioners that involve stakeholders’ identification, assessment, and consultations. In the later stage, he discussed, the project management cycle in a detailed and interactive manner. Furthermore, case studies of Quaid-i-Azam Thermal Power Project, ePay Punjab, were discussed to relate to the theoretical framework discussed earlier

In the last part of the workshop, syndicates were deputed to conduct SWOT, PESTLE and Stakeholder analysis of some selected projects. Each syndicate chairperson presented the assigned analysis followed by the review of the learned guest speaker.
