A series of workshops on “Stress Management & Anger Management” was conducted on 7th and 8th April 2026 at NIPA, Lahore, with the aim of enlightening the participants of the 46th MCMC about understanding stress as a factor influencing decision making and rational thinking, occupational stress in Pakistan’s mid-level bureaucracy, managing personal and workplace stress, effective Anger Management tools and techniques for their personal and professional lives and working towards achieving work-life balance. The workshops were led by Dr. Saad Bashir Malik, a renowned psychiatrist.

Dr. Malik highlighted that effective stress management helps break the hold that stress has on our lives, enabling us to become happier, healthier, and more productive. He also explained various dimensions of anger, describing it as an emotion that clouds judgment and impairs insight. According to him, anger is the most toxic, dangerous, and contagious of all human emotions. It makes individuals suffer for the mistakes of others, and in the process, they often harm themselves more than anyone else. He added an insightful proposition that while anger may arrive alone, it leaves by taking everything along with it.

The session also included interactive exercises designed to calm the body and mind, helping participants understand their physiological responses to stress. Through guided breathing, mindfulness practices, and group activities, participants learned practical techniques to cope more effectively with stress and manage anger in everyday situations.
