On Friday, October 11, 2024, Mr. Aftab-ur-Rehman Rana, President, Sustainable Tourism Foundation Pakistan addressed the participants of 36th SMC on “Tourism Industry”. Mr. Aftab-ur-Rehman Rana provided an insightful overview of the tourism industry in Pakistan, discussing its current state, potential, and challenges. He highlighted the significant economic, cultural, and environmental impacts of domestic tourism, noting how it drives economic growth, fosters cultural exchange, but also poses risks to natural and cultural heritage if not managed sustainably.

The lecture examined the government’s efforts to promote and develop various tourism segments, including rural, urban, and religious tourism, as well as initiatives to attract foreign tourists. Mr. Rana assessed key projects and policies aimed at improving tourism infrastructure and accessibility.
